Mountain Biking in the north of Johannesburg

I started mountain biking two months ago and I've been loving it ever since. I bought a great entry level Commencal mountain bike from the guys at buycycle.co.za. Not too far from Fourways is a place full of fresh air, trees and rivers.

Flashem

Flashem started as a group of friends in Cape Town doing a post grad Entrepreneurship degree. The group had to think of a product which could be make and sold in South Africa. They started with R20 and had to beg, steal and borrow to get their business up and running. I helped them with this brochure site and built it in Drupal with the CCK and views modules.

Butterfly Hill

I built the Butterfly Hill website for some friends in Cape Town. The website features some static content as well as a blog, picture gallery and gig guide. I used Drupal to build the website.

Commencal 2011 VB01 review

I recently purchased the Commencal VB01 and went to the Northern Farms to test it out.

Really great value for what you get. The bike includes normal pedals so you can use your normal shoes and still cycle. I've never had such a comfortable ride in my life. The Commencal VB01 is a hardtail so it won't be as comfy as a full suspension bicycle, but for a hardtail it is extremely comfortable with preload settings and 2 shock settings (hard or soft).

Commencals are made in Spain and brought in locally and then built from the ground up by avid MTBers.

Stock or racing seats?

Every second car you see in Benoni will be sporting racing seats from Autostyle or the local car mart. I drive a Honda Civic vtec EK shape and it comes with some cool things in stock form. The Honda Civic has leather seats, ABS, Airbags, Aircon and central locking to top it off. Back in it's day, the Civic vtec was undefeated with it's beast of a 1600 DOHC vtec motor.
